Celebrating milestones

To celebrate the completion of another summer session of graduate classes, Danny, Kirsten and I headed off for a fierce round of putt putt last night.  Granted, I’m going to be slaving away on papers for those classes the next few weeks, but the classroom time is now complete.  It’s all about celebrating small milestones.

Going anywhere with Kirsten and I requires extreme patience.  We take pictures of anything and everything.  Since Danny is getting married this fall, we figure it’s an excellent lesson in patience.  His wife will thank us later.

Danny began the game with chivalry (which went unnoticed by Kirsten)

and great success.

Guess whose ball is headed for the hole?  Let me give you a hint.  It’s not mine and it’s not Kirsten’s.  And we did each choose our own color.

Danny was assigned flag removal duty.

And Kirsten was assigned score keeping, since she was deemed to have the best handwriting (and because Danny and I said “not it” faster).

She sadly recorded strokes as Danny putted with ease, and we continuously made poor shots.

But then events began to change around hole 11.

There were some unfortunate turns of event for Danny.

And reasons for the girls to smile.

By the end of the night, Kirsten and I tied as we surged firmly ahead to victory.  (And I made a rare appearance in a picture.)

As punishment for his poor performance, we gave Danny two options.  Climb the spiderweb or buy us ice cream.  Considering the headache of our last ice cream adventure, Danny wisely chose the spiderweb.

After descending from his climb, and in response to the paparazzi nature of Kirsten and I, someone walked up and asked if Danny is a professional model.

Which, from this shot, anyone would assume.  I’m thinking the next cover of the Wheaton recruitment brochure.

  1. You certainly deserved the celebration at the end of classes – and congrats on pulling ahead to victory! Go, girls! It was so fun to read about this – had a smile on my face throughout! And, yes, Danny’s pic should be on the cover!
