Boys will be boys

The team was heading out of the park last Friday, and I, as usual, was lagging behind taking pictures.  I started to snap a couple pictures of the group heading out, knowing that those images were likely headed straight for the trash bin.  Instead, I ended up capturing an amusing, albeit typical for this group, series of events.

The team is just calmly and leisurely walking back through the park.  As usual, Daren (aka Mr. Long legs speed walker) is leading the pack.

Daren: “Hey, how high do you think this is?”

Wu, judging the height, “Oooh…I wonder if you can jump up and touch the top.”

Daren, “Uh, I don’t know about that.”

Rachel, thinking, “And here we go again.”

Attempt #1.

Daren, “How far was I from touching it?”

Wu, “I bet you can get closer!”

Daren backs up for a running start.  Sam is added to the shot for dramatic effect.  “Sam, don’t move!”

Attempt #2.  Sam thinking, “Whoa!  Look how high Bobo’s feet are!”

Others, “Ahhh, you can do better than that, you got higher the first time!

Attempt #3.  Three Chinese guys entering tunnel think, “What on earth is that foreigner doing?”

And now, of course, Wu has to get in on the action.

Depressed by his inability to match Daren in the vertical jump, daddy Wu leaves it at one attempt.

But little Wu, of course, has to have a try as well.

Like I’ve said, we’ve got no problem entertaining ourselves.
